The Fluke Ti450 SF6 Gas Leak Detector combines a high-quality infrared camera with an SF6 leak detector that visually pinpoints the location of SF6 leaks without shutting equipment down.

The Ti450 SF6 allows utility crews to include it as a normal part of their maintenance routine, allowing them to conduct both infrared and gas inspections whenever and wherever necessary. It eliminates the need to wait for special annual or bi-annual leak inspections — and the corresponding expensive equipment rentals or contractors — so maintenance work can be done as required, reducing potential equipment damage.

Using the Fluke Ti450 SF6, utilities professionals can perform thermal inspections to detect leaks of varying significance, reduce downtime, and schedule appropriate repairs to the welds or bolted connections (seals and flanges) of bushings.

SF6 gas is used to insulate outdoor substation equipment with higher than 35,000 volts (with corresponding high current) in utilities such as circuit breakers, transmission line switches and underground distribution switches or devices. If air or moisture sneaks inside the equipment, catastrophic failure like an arc blast can ensue. SF6 gas helps prevent such calamities but the gas itself carries some downsides and needs to be contained within the equipment enclosures.

The Ti450 SF6 Gas Leak Detector tips the scales on performance and affordability. With its pistol grip comfort and point-and-shoot convenience, even the tough spots become easy to diagnose. With the added feature of SF6 pinpoint detection, you can get the analysis you need anytime, anywhere.
