With the Megger MTO250, Megger now have the beneficial capability of testing large transformers up to 10 times faster than a traditional 10 amp model. They have increased the current output by a factor of five, while maintaining the same weight as most 10 amp models.

With the capability of testing two windings simultaneously, Megger’s MTO250 transformer ohmmeters reduce the time needed for testing by up to 50% compared with conventional instruments, making them an ideal choice for field and factory testing of current transformers, potential transformers and power transformer windings. The new testers also incorporate a comprehensive range of safety features to protect the user and the asset under test.

MTO250 series ohmmeters are readily portable mains powered instruments that have been specifically designed to accurately measure the resistance of all types of magnetic windings. Typical applications include the testing not only of transformers, but also of shunt reactors and the windings of rotating machines. In addition, MTO250 test sets can be used for performing many other types of low resistance measurements.
